OMB Wants to Expedite IPv6 Deployment in U.S. Federal Government
Washington, D.C. -- September 28, 2010 -- The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has released a memo, describing the requirements and schedule of IPv6 adoption by U.S. executive departments and federal agencies.
The OMB, working with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, has created an IPv6 Task Force to facilitate the IPv6 transition. It has set initial meetings with the the Department of Energy, Department of Treasury, National Archives and Records Administration, and Department of Interior beginning on November 15 to 19.
These meetings will conclude with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, General Services Administration, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on January 17-21, 2011.
